What you see on the second
published
book covers 1 - 5 of the Dutch books, are photos from
the 1968 movie « Catherine, il suffit d'un
amour » by Bernard Broderie (director of Angélique) with Olga Georges-Picot
as Catherine, Roger van Hool as Arnaud de Montsalvy and Horst Frank alias
Duke Philippe of Burgundy.
If you are a great fan of the Catherine books, I
strongly advice you to never watch that film, it made
our author Juliette Benzoni cry
like a fountain
as she used to say in all
interviews ! The story in the film had absolutely
nothing to do anymore with the Catherine we know from
the books. I admit that after I watched half an hour, I
turned off my television, so angry it made me.

- Belle Catherine - Catherine in Dutch
Een stormachtige liefde in woelige dagen
A stormy love in

In een ademloze spanning volgen wij Catherine, als zij
met haar trouwe zigeunerin Sarah en de stoere Normandier
Gauthier door een labyrint van vijanden trekt en aan het
slot een ontstellende bekentenis van Arnaud hoort .... |

How disappointing that the Dutch
publishers (I would love to be wrong !) never translated the seventh book - when all
started so well in 1963. Please see my translated
article from 1963. They had chosen such lovely Book
covers for the Catherine books. Just have a look at the
very first cover... |

In Heinemann's
Ltd. original hardcovers (and many other foreign
editions) we see these two beautiful
photos of Juliette Benzoni. The one on the left was
taken by the acclaimed late writer photographer Jerry
Bauer (
1934 -
2010
)
The photo on the right side by another world
famous photographer Sam Lévin. The Lévin photo
,was Juliette official Autograph card. Sometimes
we can buy them on Ebay nowadays...
