For the first time since I created this website I have the pleasure
to have come into contact with one of the marvellous people who
translated Juliette Benzoni's books. I like to thank kindly Siguršar
Hreišars from Iceland for
his gentleness to write back to me and let me know who, besides
himself translated the five Catherine books. As an anecdote he let
me know that even his own children had read these books over and
over and since they must have leant them to friends, they are
probably not anymore in the best condition. But that does not dampen
the joy for these books I am sure...
I let him know that we are still trying to find the coloured version
of the first book Sś įst brennur
heitast which he had translated for Hilmir in
1967.
Siguršar
Hreišars has translated many books and
is himself an author. I wish him much success with his new book and
who knows, maybe an Icelandic Publisher could be interested to
publish 6 & 7 which had never been translated so far in Iceland... I
keep my fingers crossed for the Iceland Catherine fans...

The
fourth book about Catherine has been released
The novel
Catherine og svarti demanturinn (Catherine and the Black Diamond) by
Juliette Benzoni has been released. This is the fourth book
to be published in this country about Catherine, the other three
are: Sś įst brennur heitast (Burning Hot Love), Catherine, and
Catherine and Arnauld.
Inside the
book cover, it says about the author: Juliette Benzoni was born and
raised in Paris and received her education there. She holds a
BA degree in philosophy, a law degree, and has also pursued literary
studies. Her descriptions are visual and illuminate the backdrop of
Frances glorious fifteenth-century. A fast-paced and exciting
scenario makes this story an independent, fateful, detailed work
that stands perfectly in line with previous books about Catherine."
The first
book, Sś įst brennur heitast (Burning Hot Love), (1967) has been adapted
for cinema and the film will be shown in Hafnarbķó this Christmas. |
